Friday
6:30/7:30 pm - Meet and Greet
We recommend that everyone arrive by Friday evening, because Friday night at Cook Shack Sessions is a fun, social fireside evening and is an excellent opportunity to get to know the other performers, experiment with collaborations and shake off the Big City vibes.
It also allows you to set camp and get settled so that it is easy to attend the Saturday Morning Workshop and enjoy any colab opportunities that come up.
Congden Creek and Moose Creek Artists should plan to arrive on Friday due to the distance. We are hoping to provide a fee top up if the budget allows.
7:30/8:30 pm - Cook Shack Singalong
Although this is intended primarily for campers, everyone is encouraged to attend and participate in the Singalong. Songbooks will be available. Led by Donna Durand
Saturday
10:30 am - 12:30 pm - Workshop
Everyone is encouraged to attend and participate in the Workshop. Led by Annie Avery
12:30 am - 6 pm - Self Directed
Enjoy the Park, collaborate, rehearse and recharge
6 - 6:30 pm - Stage setup at Cook Shack
Please check in with group, get set up, etc.
7:00 pm - 8:30 pm (ish) - Concert
We will play 3 Round Robin Sets with one song (or about 5 min) from each Performer per set.
If your song is less than 2or 3 min, there is room for you to present a second 2 min song during your turn, if your songs are a 'standard' length, you only need to prepare 3 songs, plus one or two for the jam if you are inclined to lead a jam song.
These are family-friendly public events, so choice of music should be appropriate for audiences ages 1-91.
There will be a brief door prize draw/sponsor recognition between sets.
After the 3erd set, there will be a brief intermission before the public jam starts.
8:30 pm - 10 pm - Jam
All are expected to return from the break and participate in the jam.
It is very low key. The jam leader will keep the circle going, redirecting 'jam hogs' and facilitating the overall jam, with a different jammer leading each song. Led by Kim Beggs
11 pm - Quiet Time
Sunday
Sunday mornings are also a jamming and socializing time before people begin packing up. Some may stay another evening for more camping and music experiences.
ACCOMODATIONS
You will be camping. Everyone is responsible for their own camping gear, meals, cooking equipment etc.
Please let us know when you are aiming to arrive and whether you need room for a camper, tent, car etc. so we can ensure there is a space for you when you arrive.
We have requested our site fees be waived by Parks, but if you have a parks pass, please let us know, as we can include this as an 'in-kind' contribution on the budget.
We are required to follow all Parks regulations ex: Quiet time is 11pm, Pets must be on site or leashed, wildlife attractants kept secured, etc As we have signed a contract agreeing to this and we are there representing YWIM, we will be asking everyone to be conscientious of the regs.
