A bit about Kim Beggs' Scottish roots:

My great grandfather Izatt was born in Dunfermline, Fife in 1879. Sometime before that there was an Izatt coal miner and a politician! Of note is that, in the mid-60's my father and his brother worked at a gold mine up in the Yukon. That was before I was born. There are no other politicians in our family as yet:)

Later, my paternal grandmother, the oldest of 8 Izatt siblings, was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1909 and her younger sister was born in Kelty in 1910. After that the Izatt family migrated to Canada where the other six siblings were born. Grammy grew up and married my grandad Beggs, a miner.

The Beggs family also originates from Scotland (possibly near Edinburgh) before my great, great, great, grandfather migrated to Ireland and then to Canada. There "may" even be a direct line to Henry XIII via his surviving mistress Mary Boelyn:)

Once a secret in the ancient woods, my mother was adopted as a baby in 1937 in Canada. My great, great, great bio grandparents (Mathieson and McLachlan) were born and died in Islay, Argyle, Scotland in the early 1800s.

How about you? I'd love to learn more about your roots and where your ancestors came from, Scottish or not:)
